Major Project Descriptions

All projects and dates are subject to change year to year. Please use this as a guide to assigned projects. At this point, the projects below have not been assigned as of yet.  If and when any of them are assigned, this page will address those changes, as well as,  your child having that information in class. October-December Biography Project 

5th grade will be completing a Biography project over the next several weeks. We will begin by reading a biography on a person of choice, completing a graphic organizer, creating a multi-media project, an essay and lastly presenting the multi-media project to the class. Below please find the following: Graphic organizer, multi-media guidelines, essay guidelines and a timeline with all of the due dates.

January-March Environmental Essay Contest 

We will be learning about sustainable tourism and participating in The World Affairs Council’s 18th Annual World Citizen Essay Contest: Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development—now is your chance to engage as a Sustainable Traveler! The Prompt: You have won an all-expenses-paid trip to the where you will go (and why), and describe what steps you will take to make sure that your travels are truly sustainable. All Essays are due no later than Friday, March 4th in order to be submitted on Friday, March 11th at midnight.Contest Deadline Extended to: Friday, March 11th!!
